Business Travel in Asia

The APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) member economies have agreed that it is essential for business people engaged in trade and investment to be able to move easily and quickly throughout the region.

The APEC Business Mobility Group (BMG), also known as the Informal Experts Group on Business Mobility (IEGBM), is one of the working groups within the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum. It is made up of government representatives from the member economies of APEC. These representatives are from government departments responsible for immigration and consular affairs. The group meets three times a year to develop strategies and initiatives to achieve the APEC goals of streamlining the mobility of business people to facilitate trade and investment activity.

The group has developed a range of solutions and policy measures to facilitate business travel.

Saipan Chamber of Commerce

The Saipan Chamber of Commerce started even before the political status of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) was defined in 1978. Towards the end of 1959, a group of entrepreneurial businessmen got together to form a loose association of businesses. Today, the Saipan Chamber of Commerce is the largest private business organization in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. With over 140 business members, the Chamber is an association aligned to make a difference in the Commonwealth community.
