Walter Blocker is the current Chair of the Asia Pacific Council of American Chambers of Commerce, which is the umbrella organization of 27 American Chambers of Commerce in 21 economies in the Asia Pacific region. Elected APCAC Chair in March 2010, Walter also serves on the Board of Governors of AmCham Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City), and was the Chairman of that organization in 2002-2003 and 2006.

Walter has been a resident of Vietnam since 1994 and has served on the Board of Governors since 1998. GANNON Vietnam, licensed in Vietnam since 1994, provides warehousing, logistics and labeling, and beverage packaging services under the umbrella of its 100% foreign owned license. GANNON facilitates various services for some of the world’s best-known brands including L’Oreal, Maybelline, Gallina Blance, Universal Robina, Mohawk Carpeting, Freudenberg rubber flooring, Rohm and Haas, Dow Corning, Eastman, B.F.Goodrich, and Budweiser. Walter holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hampden Sydney College.

Ms. Kristin Paulson is the immediate past Chair of the Asia Pacific Council of American Chambers of Commerce. First elected APCAC Chair in March 2008, she was reelected in March 2009. Kristin also serves on the Board of Governors of AmCham Singapore, and was the Chairman of that organization from 2003-2005.

Ms. Paulson leads KPaulson Associates, a government relations consulting business based in Singapore. She provides representation for clients who are interested in business development, market access and regulatory monitoring in SE Asia and India. Kristin was President for South Asia Pacific for United Technologies (UTC) International Operations from 2002-2009.

In Singapore, Kristin also currently serves on the Council of the Singapore Business Federation, as AmCham’s representative, and was appointed by the Ministry of Education to serve on a newly formed Council for Private Education. She is a Board Member of Singapore’s Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA.) She is also on the Board of the Food From the Heart charity organization.

Before to coming to Singapore, she worked as Manager for Congressional Affairs in UTC’s Washington office where she was actively engaged in international trade and tax legislative affairs. Prior to UTC, she served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Congressional Affairs, and was the Director of Congressional Affairs for the International Trade Administration.

Kristin holds a bachelors degree in International Studies from Miami University of Ohio, and a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center.

Landis Hicks is Executive Vice President of Pacific Architects and Engineers Incorporated, Los Angeles, Managing Director of Pacific Architects and Engineers Pte Ltd in Singapore, and Chief Representative of PAE Vietnam. PAE provides design, construction management and facilities management services at locations throughout the Asia Pacific region. From 2001 to 2003, Landis served as Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore and a member of the Board of Governors from 1990-2005. He has been APCAC Vice Chairman for Washington Relations since 1990, and was Chairman of APCAC from March 2006 to March 2008. He was a founding member of AmCham Vietnam in HCMC, and is a member of the Board of Governors. He lived in Vietnam during 1967-1975 and was a member of AmCham then.

George Drysdale, Vice Chair

George Drysdale, Jr.George Marsman Drysdale is Chairman and CEO of the Marsman Drysdale Group, a diversified Philippine-based conglomerate with interests in the agribusiness, food processing, communications, investment management and tourism industries. The Group currently operates a diversified range of interests that primarily consist of the growth and export of tropical fruit and vegetable throughout Asia and the Middle East. Other interests include branded fruit and juice processing, marketing and distribution; wireless data and voice communications; and corporate travel and tourism services. Mr. Drysdale is also a key partner in direct private equity investment into high-growth communications and media companies in the United States. His primary investments currently include DST Systems, Apria, Intraware, IP Wireless and the San Francisco Giants baseball team.

Prior to joining the Marsman-Drysdale Group in 1991, Mr. Drysdale was a venture capitalist, first as General Partner of Hambrecht & Quist Venture Partners of San Francisco (1983-1988), and then as a managing General Partner of Westar Capital, a management buyout firm. From 1981 to 1983, Mr. Drysdale practiced corporate, securities, and tax law for Davis, Polk & Wardwell, one of the finest and most preeminent Wall Street law firms in the world.

Harley Seyedin is CEO of First Washington Group and President of American Chamber of Commerce in Guangdong.

Under his direction since 1991, First Washington achieved firsts in many areas in China, including: the first majority western owned power plant; the first western invested toll road; and, the first US accredited Catholic University in China.

During his tenure as President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Guangdong since 2002, AmCham has built a very strong relationship with various Chinese government leaders at central, provincial, and local levels. This was most evident during the 2005 APCAC Annual Meeting in Guangzhou, China. AmCham Guangdong’s membership continues to grow at a very fast pace

Atul Singh, Vice Chair, South Asia

Atul Singh, President, India & SW Asia, Coca-Cola Atul Singh is President of the India and South West Asia Business Unit of The Coca-Cola Company.

From January through August 2005, Mr. Singh was President of the East, Central & South China Division, covering Shanghai, the Swire bottling territories of China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. He was also responsible for global and strategic key customer relationships for Greater China and was a member of the Customer Leadership Council.

Mr. Singh began his career in the Coca-Cola system in 1998 as Vice President of Operations in the India Division. There he led the Franchise Operations and Key Accounts group from 1998 to 2001. He moved to the China Division in July of 2001, initially as Region Manager of East China, then as Vice President of Operations, and later as Deputy Division President of the China Division. He became President of the India Business Unit in 2005.

Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Singh was an Auditor with Price Waterhouse in New York and held a number of leadership roles at Colgate Palmolive in the United States, Romania and Nigeria.

Thomas Pinansky is engaged in the practice of international corporate law, and he is also substantially involved with international arbitration. He serves as an arbitrator for the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board (Seoul); the World Intellectual Property Organization (Geneva); and the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (Hong Kong). In addition, he is included on the informal roster of arbitrators for the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (Washington, DC).

AmCham China - Beijing

The American Chamber of Commerce in the People’s Republic of China (AmCham-China) is a non-profit organization which represents US companies and individuals doing business in China. AmCham-China’s membership comprises more than 2,600 individuals from over 1,100 companies.

It has more than 40 industry- and issue-specific forums and committees, offers unique services such as the Business Visa Program, holds a wide range of networking and informational events, and meets with US and Chinese officials to discuss challenges and opportunities facing US firms doing business in China.

The Chamber’s mission is to help American companies succeed in China through advocacy, information, networking and business support services.
